If you have found us it means that you have a strong commitment to Yoga, a desire to dive deeper into the theory and practicums of Yoga, and the hope to share this ‘life-changing’ practice with others. Or perhaps you are a current Yoga teacher who would like to enhance their teaching skills and take the experience your students receive to the next level.
On the field of Dharma is offering the first Yoga Alliance Accredited 250 HR Yoga Teacher Training in the Whitsundays, and one of the first 250 HR trainings Australia wide. Our commitment is to provide both the skills and confidence that will set you apart from the current trends in teaching.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
In order to move forward towards teaching we must take you right back to the roots of practice and build from there. Our Yoga practices & theory weekends will include;
- Study of the history & philosophy of Yoga via The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali & The Bhagavad Gita
- Yogic Physiology, including Prana, Nadis, Koshas & Chakras
- Human physiology as defined by Western Science
- Yogic Physiology
- The practices of Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra
- Introduction & in-depth exploration of the Anusara 5 Universal Principles of Alignment
A comprehensive weekend of Structural/Functional Anatomy training
With the foundation set for teaching, we will then refine study to include teaching methodology such as;
- The use of language
- Theming a Yoga class
- Creating Ambience
- Sequencing guidelines for a general Yoga class, as well as a more in depth exploration of sequencing for specific Yoga classes
Creation of an 8 week Beginners Course
- -Use of props
- Learning to read bodies both on and off the mat
- Learning to adjust or assist students in a pose
- The art of demonstrating
- Modifying a class to suit specific medical needs
Before being sent off into the world to share your gifts, we will also include discussion on;
Ethics & boundaries in the classroom

We will meet one weekend per month for 10 months. We have chosen this format to provide you with the best opportunity to assimilate the teachings into your own practice. And to create the opportunity to get as much practise teaching under your belt before you complete the training!

29-31 MARCH - ANATOMY WEEKEND
19-21 APRIL - PRACTICES & THEORY OF YOGA
24 - 26 MAY - PRACTICES & THEORY OF YOGA
21-23 JUNE - TEACHING METHODOLOGY (These dates to be confirmed)

16-18 AUGUST - TEACHING METHODOLOGY
13-15 SEPTEMBER - TEACHING METHODOLOGY
11-13 OCTOBER - TEACHING ETHICS, THE BUSINESS OF YOGA & ASSESSMENTS
FRIDAY - 3pm - 9pm
SAT - Either 8 - 9:30am/10 - 11:30am + 12pm - 6pm
SUN - 9am - 3pm
Each weekend will include theory & discussion, practise teaching (from weekend 1!) & yoga classes. As part of your weekend training you will take part in public classes held at the Yoga Therapies Studio, to allow you to experience the ‘real-world’ of Yoga.
Also as part of your training you will be required to attend 2 yoga classes/week (min 75 mins each), these classes will need to be logged and signed off by your teacher.
To give you the best preparation for teaching once you have completed this training, you will also be required to practice teach 1 class/week to family or friends. This class must be a minimum of 30 mins initially, with incremental increases to 1 hour by the end of training.
We suggest a minimum of 1 year of regular practice (reference required)
A willingness to participate in a group environment
A commitment to the full program as well as ‘at-home’ components of the training
The ability to give & receive constructive feedback
You will be provided with a required reading list for the training shortly.
Investment : $5000 early bird rate, ends September 1st, 2018
$5500 from September 1st onwards
