As a life coach I will work with you on a one to one basis to understand your life situation, future goals, current issues and challenges. By talking through your circumstances with a professional you are better able to ‘get out of your own head’ and with guidance in a neutral environment, come up with new ways of being that better align with your personal needs and goals.
There are many fantastic self-help programs, corporate training tools and other resources that can help you on your journey to find happiness and success or to overcome stress or difficult life events.
However, rather than letting these self-help tools gather dust, a life coach or counsellor can help you to take the next step and implement the change you really want. As a life coach and mentor I have helped people make positive changes in their life using the following principles:
One to one coaching sessions: In the 24/7, fast paced world in which we live it can be hard to disconnect from the stresses of life. By taking the time to talk through challenges, problems or opportunities with a life coach in a neutral environment, can help you reconnect with what is important for you. My clients often tell me that by simply making an appointment they have already started to change their perspective and think about positive ways to improve their life.
You are your own expert: I say this because in my experience the best and most sustainable change comes when my clients are part of the solution. However, when we are managing busy home and professional lives, raising families or working long hours, stress can creep in and cloud our thinking. Often small challenges can feel like insurmountable problems. As a neutral sounding board I help clients re-frame problems, tap into their creativity and manage stress and anxieties while forging new solutions to improve their life situation.
Access to the right tools: I don’t offer a specific program but encourage and help you find the tools that will ultimately help you to become your own ‘guru’. Coaching sessions along with my experience and skills can be used to work through ideas, processes or thoughts you may have on your circumstances, problems and future life goals. Using my extensive corporate, research and counselling experience I am able to point you to different tools and resources that are relevant to you, whether you are wanting to cope better with stress, improve personal or professional relationships or simply find more time to do the things you love.
Many clients find that setting up a regular time to reflect on their life, away from their busy office or home, enables them to better implement and maintain effective change in their life. A regular check-in point with someone who listens can be enough to keep you on track and follow through with making the changes you want in your life.
